Donald Glover to Play Simba in 'The Lion King' Remake


In the remake, the multi-talented Golden Globe winner will star opposite James Earl Jones, who will reprise his role as Simba's father Mufasa.

Donald Glover is set to be a king. Director Jon Favreau has just taken to his official Twitter account to announce that Glover will play Simba in the upcoming "The Lion King (2018)" remake. Favreau announced the news by posting Glover's picture and tweeting, "I just can't wait to be a king," which is a reference to classic "The Lion King" soundtrack.

Later on, Favreau also announced that James Earl Jones would reprise his role as Mufasa, Simba's beloved father. Earl Jones, a "Star Wars" veteran who recently reprised his voice work as Darth Vader in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", voiced Mufasa in the 1994 version of "The Lion King".
